ASVAB Daily targets WCAG 2.1 AA across the app: keyboard navigation, screen-reader support, sufficient color contrast in both light and dark themes, and no meaning conveyed by color alone. The test suite combines automated axe-core checks (WCAG 2.0/2.1/2.2, levels A and AA) with browser coverage of critical flows. Standard interactive controls are designed with accessible names and visible focus states. Touch-first controls use a shared 44px target, while intentionally compact controls use a separate shared 36px target.
What works with a screen reader
Word Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension, Arithmetic Reasoning, Mathematics Knowledge, General Science, Electronics Information, Auto Information, Shop Information, and Mechanical Comprehension - the nine non-spatial subtests - are built from accessible text and math markup, not images of text. They work with a screen reader, keyboard-only navigation, and browser zoom.
Assembling Objects is visual, and we're not going to pretend otherwise
Assembling Objects (AO) tests whether you can recognize how shapes fit together in space. The item is the shape. There is no text description that conveys the puzzle without either giving away the answer or changing what is actually being tested, so we cannot make AO fully equivalent for a non-sighted test-taker. AO items on ASVAB Daily are rendered and administered visually.
We looked for a published official procedure for accommodating a non-sighted test-taker on the real ASVAB's AO subtest and did not find one, checking both officialasvab.com and the public DTIC technical reports on AO. If one exists and we missed it, we want to know. Until then, disclosing the gap is the honest option - claiming a parity we cannot deliver would not be.
